Melisah May Melisah May is an Australian Illustrator and Visual Arts Secondary Teacher. Currently residing in London, she divides her time between teaching art and creating it.
She holds a BA in Illustration, specializing in Natural History, which influences her detailed, realistic approach. She also holds a BA in Fine Art Education, in which she studied Painting, Photography and Digital Media as her core subjects. Melisah has exhibited in both group and solo Art shows and has had work published in Natural History and Education related material. She has also worked with Fashion Designers assisting with portfolio work, corporate identity and designs her own clothing concepts in her spare time. Detailed and feminine, her work is a conceptual contrast - sweet yet raw, whimsical yet strong, familiar yet unique. Her take on fashion and pop culture meld to create interesting compositions and often make a social comment or imply hidden meaning.
Working mainly with ink, watercolour, pencil and charcoal, Melisah’s illustrations are stylish, edgy and beautifully rendered.
